Meet Chinwe

Chinwe Esimai is a proud Catholic, immigrant, and trailblazing leader who’s passionate about helping others discover their purpose and reach their full potential. She’s the President and CEO of Scepter3 Global Advisors, where she works with fast-growing companies, banks, and even governments to make sure they’re doing the right thing when it comes to risk and compliance.

Before launching her own firm, Chinwe made history at Citigroup, one of the world’s biggest banks. She became the first-ever Chief Anti-Bribery & Corruption Officer and later the Managing Director and Chief Compliance Officer for Legacy Franchises—the first person to ever hold either title in the bank’s history.

Chinwe came to the U.S. from Nigeria and graduated summa cum laude from the City College of New York (just like many students at Lehman!). She went on to earn her law degree from Harvard Law School and began her career in corporate law. She also spent time as a law professor before moving into leadership roles in finance.

Her accomplishments have been recognized around the world. She’s been named one of American Banker’s Most Powerful Women in Banking, Crain’s Notable Diverse Leaders, and one of Diversity Woman Magazine’s Elite 100 Black Women Changing the Face of Corporate America. You may have seen her speak at events like the United Nations, Essence Festival, or on TV stations like ABC, CBS, and NBC.

She’s also the author of the book Brilliance Beyond Borders, where she shares the stories of other amazing immigrant women making a difference.

Through everything, Chinwe stays grounded in her Catholic faith, which guides her leadership, her service, and her vision to inspire others to live with excellence and integrity.
